Frequently asked questions about the site

Do you tell people which stock to buy?

No, and not out of modesty: we are not registered investment advisers or analysts, so recommending a security would be regulated activity we do not carry out. The site shows the figure with its source and date; the decision, and the responsibility, belong to the reader.

Where does the quote on the page come from?

From a free, licensed TradingView widget, with whatever delay their agreement with each exchange allows — up to 15 minutes on the exchanges we cover. We neither process nor store that value: the box is rendered by TradingView and we only display it.

Is the dividend figure copied from another site?

No. In the United States it is the declared dividend per share from the SEC’s public XBRL API, with the fiscal period it covers. In Brazil it is extracted from the PDF of the official CVM "Relatório Proventos" filing, with the PDF link on the page. In neither case does it pass through an aggregator.

Why do some pages show no dividend figure at all?

Because that market’s regulator does not publish the amount in structured form, or because the extraction of that specific filing did not match the expected format. In that case the page shows the date and the official link and says plainly what is missing, instead of filling the table with an estimate.

Why does every figure have a date next to it?

Because financial data without a reference date is misinformation. A quote, a dividend per share and even a ticker name are true for a moment in time, and you need to know when the thing you are reading is from in order to judge whether it still holds.

Where do the photos come from?

From Wikimedia Commons, under a free licence, with the author and the licence printed beneath each photo. Company logos are not used: a logo is a trademark and does not fit our free-licence rule, so we prefer a photo of a headquarters, a building or an operation. A subject with no acceptable photo stays without one.

How is the site funded?

By ads. They do not influence which assets get a page or what the text says. We are not broker affiliates, we earn nothing from account openings, and we accept no paid links or sponsored posts.

I found a mistake. What do I do?

Write via the contact page saying which page and which figure. If you include the link to the official filing with the right data, the correction ships the same day — and when it cannot be confirmed, our answer is to remove the figure, not to adjust it in the dark.
